An arrest has been made after hot water was thrown over a man at a Co Tyrone court.
The victim was treated in hospital for burn injuries to his face and upper body following the incident at Strabane Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
Police said on Friday a 34-year-old man has been arrested.
“The suspect, aged 34, has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of an offensive weapon with intent,” they said.
“He remains in custody at this time.”
Police also reiterated their appeal for information or footage which may have captured the suspect leaving the scene. Anyone with information can contact police by calling 101, quoting reference 409 of April 16.
