Carl Frampton and his family have received a sinister threat online.
The wife of the champion boxer received a message on social media with a warning against her, her husband and children.
The message read: "You and your kids and Carl are getting murdered by the UVF, so f***ing watch."
Christine Frampton wrote: "Lovely message I got on Facebook. How do I find out who this person is because the profile seems to have disappeared?"
The athlete from Tigers Bay also retweeted the post.
Hundreds of people offered their support to the family urging Christine to report the message to police.
In a statement the PSNI said: "We do not discuss the security of any individual, individuals or groups.
"However, if we receive information that a person's life may be at risk we will inform the relevant persons accordingly.
"We never ignore anything which may put an individual at risk. No inference should be drawn from this."
