People in the North Coast have been contacted by fake callers regarding their broadband speeds.
The PSNI said:
"They were told by the caller that their speeds would be improved and as a gesture of good will would be given £250.
"The caller then went on to explain that they had transferred in too much money and request that the customer pay it back in the form of iTunes vouchers, which the customer it and lost a large quantity of money.
"No legitimate company will ask for payment by iTunes vouchers, and if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
"Please keep any elderly relatives informed of this scam, as unfortunately they are often targeted. If you or a relative has any concerns regarding scams like this, please contact Police on 101."
