Residents have been left frustrated after long-awaited roadworks have been delayed.
The Alina Road was to be resurfaced.
Locals had raised concerns about pedestrian and driver safety due to its condition.
But Slieve Gullion councillor Terry Hearty, who engaged with them, confirmed works had to be postponed.
He said it's because NI Water is laying a new water main.
Meanwhile road resurfacing's underway in Kilkeel.
A kilometre stretch of the Mill Road carriageway is being improved.
The majority of works are expected to be finished by the end of March.
