DUP Leader Arlene Foster to meet Prime Minister on Tuesday

DUP leader Arlene Foster says she will meet Theresa May in London on Tuesday for talks about propping up the Conservative government.

Downing Street appears to have spoken too soon yesterday by announcing a deal had been reached in principle between the two parties.

Mrs Foster has said "we had very good discussions yesterday with the Conservative party in relation to how we could support them in forming a national government - one that would bring stability to the nation".

Adding, "those discussions continue - we have made good progress but those discussions continue".

The DUP leader also expressed concerns at the way some parts of the media have been portaying her party and said "there's been a lot of hyperbole about the DUP since Thursday, a lot of things said, a lot of people who really don't know what we stand for".

Mrs Foster said "just to be clear, we will act in the national interest, we want to do what's right for the whole of the United Kingdom".
