Man dies after Newry canal plunge

A man has died after his car plunged into Newry canal.

The incident happened yesterday afternoon at Fathom Line in the city.

The driver was recovered from the water and taken to Daisy Hill hospital where he later died.

Police inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing.
