A man in his fifties has been shot in the knee in Newtownabbey, Co. Antrim.
The victim was targeted in the New Mossley area at around 7.05pm yesterday evening.
Police say he was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which at this this time do not appear to be life threatening, "but have the potential to be life changing".
They are appealing to anyone with information to get in touch by calling 101 quoting reference number 1690 of 18/11/20.
Alliance MLA John Blair said: “I am shocked to hear of this brutal attack and my thoughts are with the victim,” said Mr Blair.
“I appeal to anyone with information to contact police with it immediately.”
