A man killed in a road crash in Ballywalter this morning, was Dean Weir.
The 52 year-old was travelling on the Dunover Road when his Suzuki Alto collided with a Nissan Micra.
The victim was originally from Bangor but had been living in Portavogie.
The road remains closed this evening.
Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the Dunover Road this morning and who witnessed the collision to contact local police in Newtownards or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference number 293 of 17/03/17.
