A 23 year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a Derry-Londonderry toddler.
Three year old, Kayden McGuinness was found dead in his bead in the Columbcille Court area of the Bogside on September 17th last year.
This afternoon, Liam Whoriskey from Glenabbey Gardens was surrounded by police officers as he appeared in the dock.
He spoke only to confirm his name and that he understood the charges.
Mr Whoriskey was remanded in custody until July 5th.
There was a heavy police presence in court and as the accused was led from the dock he was heckled by the child’s relatives, who wept openly.
