Last night Glens Ulster Unionist Councillor Joan Baird was elected to the top post.
Sinn Fein's Cathal McLaughlin is Causeway Coast and Glens' new Deputy Mayor.
The Ballymoney councillor becomes the first ever republican to hold a mayoral position in the mainly unionist council.
