A paint bomb has been thrown at a Catholic Church in Larne.
The chapel on Agnew Street was targeted sometime overnight but police received the report at 11am today.
The incident is being treated as a hate crime.
Sergeant Alan Lowry said, “Enquiries are continuing and at this stage the incident is being treated as a sectarian hate crime.
“We would appeal to anyone with any information to contact police in Larne on 101, quoting reference number 608 16/02/20."
Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
Meanwhile, local Councillor Geraldine Mulvenna has hit out at those responsible for the attack.
She has described it as appalling and shocking.
