The man who died following a one-vehicle road traffic collision at Curragh Road in Coleraine was 75 year old Jim McCollum.
He died after the Landrover jeep he was driving was in collision with a tree shortly after 3pm on Tuesday afternoon (7 March).
Inspector Purvis has asked anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any information which could assist the police investigation to contact officers at the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference number 753 07/03/17.
