Police investigating a security alert in Derry Londonderry, are acting upon information that there's a suspicious device in the area that hasn't gone off.
That's according to a local councillor, Sandra Duffy, who says no homes have been evacuated in the ongoing incident.
The Greenhaw Road/Racecourse Road/Glengalliagh Road and Fern Road have all been closed since the early hours of this morning.
The roads are expected to be closed, with cordons in place, till at least lunchtime, with motorists and pedestrians being advised to avoid the area.
Speaking to Q Radio, Cllr Duffy said, "We have an ongoing security alert in the area with a number of roads cordoned off including the main Glengalliagh Road which runs through the area which has been affecting the local shopping centre.

"The shopping centre can be accessed through the back entrance at this point .
"We have no residents at this point that have been evacuated from their homes.
The police search is going to continue for most of the morning and we are hopeful we can keep people in their homes at this time.
