Rescue Services in Omagh and Dungannon appeal for new volunteers

New rescue services in Omagh and Dungannon are encouraging new volunteers to come forward and join their team. 

Ideally, the Tyrone based branch needs around 20 volunteers to carry out adequate rescue operations. 

However, at the minute they only have 3 volunteers that have enrolled and been trained; with 2 other people showing interest in joining. 

The Northern Ireland Community Rescue Service are responsible for carrying out search and rescue operations when the PSNI call them out. 

This could involve someone who has ran away, elderly people who may have dementia or alzheimers and become disorientated; or they're sometimes sent to look for a body that could be dead or alive. 

Anyone who volunteers to join the Tyrone branch will be trained to deal with these circumstances in the most efficient and professional way possible.
