Three men have been arrested in Larne after a man was beaten with sledge hammers earlier this week.
Police say the victim, who was in his 20's, suffered 'life changing' injuries to his arms and legs on Sunday evening.
Members of the public saw three men walking with hammers in the Woodvale Area at around 11.25pm, before hearing the victim screaming from a property nearby.
At the time Detective Sergeant Pete Crothers said: "Police attended and located a man inside a property, where a number of windows were smashed.
"The man, aged in his 20s, sustained injuries to his legs and arms and is being treated in hospital for what are described as life-changing injuries.
"This was a brutal attack, which is being treated as a paramilitary style assault at this time."
Three suspects, aged 30, 31 and 33, were detained following a number of searches in the Larne area on Wednesday night.
