Two men have been arrested after a man was attacked with a hammer in west Belfast.
The victim was confronted by three people at his front door in Springmeadow early this morning.
The suspects, aged 39 and 30 are still in custody.
PSNI Inspector James Murphy said: "The 30 year old victim answered a knock to his front door at around 4am this morning and was confronted by two men and a woman. The men proceeded to assault him before making off.
"The arrested men were detained a short time later and remain in custody at present assisting with our enquiries.
"Anyone with information that could assist the police investigation is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 275 26/05/18."
