Two vans were damaged in Maghera on Sunday, in two carparks in the town.
A spokesperson for the PSNI said:
"One van was parked in the carpark at Saint Lurach's Road, close to the public toilets, a passenger window was smashed to gain access, nothing taken.
"We believe the suspect may have been disturbed.
"The second van was parked in the carpark behind Crawford's Sports in which there was damage to the van door, a padlock was broken on a toolbox but thankfully there were no tools inside."
The incidents were reported to the PSNI by a local person in the town around that time.
'The Carn Classic' annual cycle event was also on at this time, which large crowds attended.
Police are appealing for anyone who was at the event and who may have information to get in contact, while enquiries continue.
