A viable pipe bomb has been made safe in Strabane.
The object was found in the Drumrallagh area of the County Tyrone Town on Sunday before it was taken away by the PSNI.
A number of residents were evacuated during the operation.
The discovery was the second explosive to be found in Northern Ireland within a number of hours.
A pipe bomb was found in the Coolnasilla area of West Belfast.
Sinn Féin MLA Alex Maskey has condemned the discovery.
"A number of residents were moved from their homes during the security alert in Coolnasilla Park West.
“This device could have endangered residents in the area.
“An area was sealed off by police and the bomb defused on site.
"There can be no justification for this attack and I would appeal to anyone with information to contact the police.”
