Police now say they are treating an attack on a war memorial in Coagh in County Tyrone as an accident.
The monument was damaged in the Main Street area sometime between 10pm last night and 1am this morning.
Earlier the PSNI said detectives were treating the incident as a hate crime.
In an updated statement, police asked people to "disregard" the initial appeal as they no longer believed the incident to have been deliberate.
Local MLA, Keith Buchanan has been speaking to Q Radio about what happened:
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or those with information are urged to contact the PSNI on 101, quoting reference number 27 of 16/01/19.”
