Cross-border football competition the Unite the Union Champions Cup has been postponed until next year.

Organisers are citing the rise in Covid-19 cases across the island.

Linfield were due to play Coleraine in the local semi-final of the tournament on Tuesday.

The Bannsiders are in action on Friday night though - at home to Larne in the Danske Bank Premiership.

Also on Friday evening, Derry City end their League of Ireland campaign away to Dundalk.

The Candystripes are still in with a chance of qualifying for Europe.

Rory McIlroy has slipped to one shot off the pace on day two of the World Tour Championship after a double bogey at the final hole. 

Shane Lowry is in a three-way tie at the top of the leaderboard in Dubai. 

In rugby, Ulster stars Iain Henderson and Robert Baloucoune have been named to start for Ireland against Argentina in Dublin on Sunday.
