Coleraine have moved up to second place in the Danske Bank Premiership following a 4-0 win away to Institute.

Defender Aaron Canning struck twice for Oran Kearney's men, now seven points behind leaders Linfield with a game in hand.

The Bannsiders go above Glentoran who were held to a 2-2 draw by Glenavon at Mourneview Park.

Centre-back Colin Coates made his debut for the Lurgan Blues after his transfer from Crusaders last month and was named Glenavon's man of the match...

Glenavon twice came from behind to level it with both goals scored by former Glentoran players - Danny Purkis, then Aaron Harmon, whose long ball into the box got caught in the wind and deceived keeper Marijan Antolovic.

The Glens claimed the goal should have been disallowed for a foul.

Navid Nasseri hit two brilliant goals for the east Belfast side and then had a disputed penalty saved by Jonny Tuffey in the closing stages ...

Also on Saturday, Cliftonville and Ballymena drew 1-1 at Solitude - Leroy Millar for the visitors, Joe Gormley with the Reds' equaliser.

It ends a seven-match losing streak for David Jeffrey's team.

Dungannon Swifts had a 2-1 victory away to 10-man Carrick Rangers, who had Chris Rodgers sent off just after the interval.

Larne beat Warrenpoint Town 1-0 at Inver Park thanks to a late penalty from substitute Andy Mitchell, his first goal for the club.

The game was delayed for a time with one of the match officials receiving treatment as he was feeling the effects of the cold weather.
