By Simon Hunter

The 2018 Irish Open will be held at Ballyliffin Golf Club in County Donegal.

As with this year's schedule, it will take place a fortnight before the Open Championship.

It will run from 5-8 July; having never been held there before.

The course is similar to Portstewart and Royal Portrush, in terms of being 'links' in nature.

Officials made the announcement as this year's event entered its final day at Portstewart Golf Club.
