Ballymena United will face Dungannon Swifts in next Saturday's BetMcLean League Cup final after beating Cliftonville 3-1 in their semi at the Showgrounds - finally played at the fourth attempt.

Goals from Leroy Millar and Tony Kane put the holders in the driving seat and Cathair Friel made sure of a Sky Blues victory with a spectacular late strike from inside his own half. 

It was a dream comeback on Saturday for midfielder Millar after a long injury lay-off...

Reds manager Barry Gray admits Ballymena were the better side... 

Meanwhile, Crusaders moved five points clear at the top of the Danske Bank Premiership with a 4-2 home win against Glentoran.

The Crues' closest rivals Coleraine and Glenavon drew 1-1 at Ballycastle Road.

Carrick had a 4-0 win away to Ards and Dungannon warmed up for the League Cup decider by holding Linfield to a scoreless draw at Windsor Park.
