Glentoran produced a stunning second half comeback to beat Ballymena 3-1 in the Danske Bank Premiership at the Oval last night.

Cathair Friel had controversially put the visitors in front on the stroke of half-time after the referee ruled his penalty rebound had crossed the line.

But the fired up Glens replied after the break with goals from Hrvoje Plum, Robbie McDaid and Marcus Kane.

The victory moves Mick McDermott's men to within a point of fourth-placed Linfield ahead of the Blues' trip to Coleraine this afternoon.

The result at the Oval was the perfect present for Glens great Bertie Wright who was guest of honour to celebrate his 100th birthday this week.
