Linfield have slipped nine points behind Crusaders in the Premiership title race.

They were held to a surprise one-all draw by basement club Portadown at Windsor Park last night.

The Crues had a 2-1 victory at Dungannon.

The Blues needed a stoppage time goal to even get a point against the Ports and home boss David Healy was sent off as tempers flared near the end.

After six defeats in a row, full-back Mark Carson says Portadown finally showed what they're capable of.

Meanwhile, Glenavon had a 3-0 victory over visiting Ballinamallard and it finished one-each between Cliftonville and Glentoran at Solitude.

After the match, Reds boss Gerard Lyttle confirmed top scorer Davy McDaid has left the club to sign for League of Ireland team, Waterford.
