Dungannon Swifts are hitting back at claims club captain Ryan Harpur was suspended and shouldn't have played in Saturday's 2-0 win against Ballinamallard.

He had been sent off in the BetMcLean League Cup final victory over Ballymena and was due to serve an automatic one-match ban but Dungannon appealed the dismissal and say the skipper was cleared to play at the weekend.

The Mallards could challenge the result are to meet to discuss the situation. 

The Swifts go to Carrick on Tuesday night in one of four re-arranged Danske Bank Premiership matches.

Linfield can draw level on points with Glenavon in third place by beating the Lurgan side at Windsor Park.

Meanwhile, Ballymena take on Ards in Bangor and Glentoran welcome Warrenpoint Town.
