The Justice Minister Naoimi Long has announced a £100,000 funding package for voluntary search and rescue groups here.
The money has been increased by 15,000 pounds compared to similar funding available last year.
The funding will be split between eight search and rescue groups across Northern Ireland to help them buy equipment or with training costs.
The North West Mountain Rescue Team (NWMRT) is one of those in line for funding.
Team leader at NWMRT, Keith Thompson said, "The funding from the department of justice is basically essential to the team, particularly this year with Covid, our own funding exercises have been curtailed severely."

Announcing the funding earlier today, Naomi Long said: “This vital funding will assist the voluntary search and rescue teams and their dedicated highly trained volunteers, to continue with their lifesaving response.
“I recognise and fully appreciate the contribution made by the voluntary search and rescue groups in supporting PSNI and Maritime and Coastguard Agency in responding to those in need of assistance.
"I am pleased to confirm the 2020/21 funding which supports and assists organisations and their volunteers by enabling them to purchase much needed safety equipment or help towards the cost of transport and training."
