Concerned animal lovers in Castledawson area are appealing for action to be taken in relation to an abandoned donkey.
The donkey has been living in a field in Church Lane for several months.
Residents have been feeding the animal.
The posters on ‘Castledawson Life’ have been critical of the poor state in which the donkey was found.
Mid-Ulster District Council meanwhile, has issued an Abandonment Notice.
The council told Q Radio that this will run for two weeks, giving the owner time to come forward.
The Donkey Sanctuary has also been informed, should the owner fail to respond.
