Nominations are now open for the 2016 Fermanagh and Omagh Sports Forum Awards.

The annual awards recognise and celebrate the sporting feats of athletes and teams from across the local council district.

Chairperson of Fermanagh and Omagh Sports Forum, Bernie Fox has been speaking to Q radio news.

“The Sports Awards gives us an opportunity to recognise the hard work and dedication of our sports women, men, girls and boys.  It is fitting that the awards also recognise the important role of coaches and volunteers and we look forward to receiving award nominations from members of the public over the coming weeks," she said.

The deadline for nominations is 5 P-M on Friday the 6th of January.

It is not necessary to submit a number of nominations for one candidate as the final shortlist of nominees will be compiled by Fermanagh and Omagh Sports Forum and will not be based on the number of nominations received.

And the award winners will be announced at the Killyhevlin Hotel, Enniskillen, on Friday the 10th of February.
