A Broughshane man is recovering after being attacked in a Belfast street.
Gary McKendry was hit in the mouth after intervening to stop a homeless man being abused.
The incident happened early last Wednesday in Botanic Avenue.
Gary suffered a badly bruised mouth, loose teeth and stitches.
