Causeway Coast and Glens officials are joining forces with other Northern Ireland Councils to fight a potential axing of the Rates Support Grant (RSG).
The RSG subsidises less well off Councils, or those with a large geographical area to cover.
The Stormont grant which gives Causeway Coast & Glens Council £2.4 million a year. Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is less exposed, receiving a relatively small RSG annual grant of £1.2 million. But Derry & Strabane Council gets the most RSG cash - £3.9 million.
Bann Councillor Richard Holmes told Q Radio's Roger Donnelly he fears if the Rates Support Grant is cut, its effects will be drastic:
