A commercial property has been badly damaged following an arson attack in Cullyhanna, Co Armagh.
The fire in the unoccupied building on Tullynavall Road was reported at 11pm last night.
No one was injured in the blaze, however police have warned the flames could have easily spread to nearby homes.
Detectives are appealing for information.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for information or witnesses following the report of a fire at premises in Cullyhanna, near Crossmaglen, on the night of Tuesday 24 March.
"The fire, reported just after 11pm, was at unoccupied former commercial premises in the Tullynavall Road area.
"Police attended along with colleagues from Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service.
"It’s believed this fire was started deliberately and is therefore being treated as arson.
"While no one was injured, substantial and costly damage has been caused to the building and, worryingly, the fire could have easily spread to nearby homes.
"Police are appealing to anyone with information, or who may have noticed any suspicious activity including a car being driven from the area at speed, to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 1834 of 24/03/20.
"Information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
