Derry City and Strabane Council are backing the family of a pensioner in a call for an inquiry into the care he received at a Derry-Londonderry home.
76 year-old Joseph Stewart has Lewy body dementia.
His family say his soiled nappies were not changed while he was a resident at Owen Mor care home in the city.
Management at the site have previously apologised for the treatment of those in it's care after inspectors highlighted concerns.
Mr Stewart's granddaughter Laura says she is delighted with council endorsement and hopes the family will now get the truth:
The home is currently closed to new admissions.
