Covid-19: Eight deaths, 2,899 new cases

Eight more people have died after testing positive for Covid-19 with two of those deaths occurred within the most recent reporting period.

An additional 2,899 new cases have also reported in the past 24 hours.

There are 519 people in hospital who have tested positive and seven of them are in ICU. Three are being ventilated.

Ten hospitals are operating over capacity today and there are Covid outbreaks in 153 care homes.

The death toll is 3,282.
