Ballymena councillor Declan O'Loan thinks he's seen evidence of a significant rise in taxi prices.
In recent days all private hire taxis across Northern Ireland have been converted from fixed fares to metering.
And someone emailed Councillor O'Loan over a Ballymena taxi fare that recently cost £4, which was £6.20:
