A man has been left in hospital with a fractured jaw after he was beaten up in East Belfast this morning.
The 31-year-old was attacked by a man on Castlereagh Road at around 3am by a stranger outside a licensed premises.
The suspect is described as being of heavy build and spoke with a local Belfast accent.
Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who has any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives in Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference number 330 of 07/05/17.
Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
