Hillary Clinton, Queen's University Chancellor, praises work of staff and students

Secretary Hillary Clinton has shared a video message to staff and students at Queen's University in new her role as Chancellor of the institution.

In the video from her home in New York, she said: "It's never been more critical to come together as a community, all communities, especially the Queen's community.

"That's exactly what everyone at Queen's is doing. So thank you everyone for your service and leadership today".

Secretary Clinton was made a Chancellor of the university in January this year, having received an Honorary Doctorate from Queen's in October 2018.

In her message, she called her first few months in the role as "unprecedented to say the least."

She also said, "I could not be prouder of the ways in which everyone at Queen's have risen to the occasion that we are facing."

As Chancellor, the former First Lady and Democratic Presidential nominee fulfils three main roles – a ceremonial one which involves presiding at degree congregations; an ambassadorial role, and finally as an advisor, available to the Vice-Chancellor and senior management.
