A number of homes have been evacuated after a suspicious object was found outside an apartment block in North Belfast.
Police were called to the security alert in the Northview area at around 10.30am this morning and they have put a cordon in place.
PSNI Inspector Robert McMurran said: “Police are at the scene of a security alert in north Belfast following the discovery of a suspicious object outside a property in the Northview area, around 10.30am this morning, Thursday 5 July.
"A number of houses have been evacuated and cordons have been put in place.
"There are no further details at this stage."
