The funeral of SDLP veteran, John Dallat, will get underway later this morning.
The East Derry/Londonderry MLA passed away peacefully at his home in Kilrea on Tuesday at the age of 73.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and in line with government guidelines, the funeral will be strictly private.
However, there will be a chance for Mr Dallat's neighbours to line the rural roads near his home at half 11 and pay their respects while social distancing.
SDLP Leader Colum Eastwood MP has led tributes to Mr Dallat, who he said was a fierce and forensic champion of people and the public interest as well as a good and loyal man.
Mr Eastwood said that John will be remembered for his defence of the public purse and his famous good humour.
