A 49-year-old man has been arrested under the Terrorism Act after officers carried out a search and arrest operation in Derry/Londonderry today.
He has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Musgrave Police Station for questioning.
The operation and arrest are part of the PSNI's ongoing investigations into the activities of the New IRA.
Detective Inspector Clara Heaton said: “This arrest is a continued demonstration of our commitment to use all tools at our disposal to reduce the threat posed by violent dissident republicans and I would encourage anyone with information in relation to the New IRA to contact police."
