A man in his 40s has been arrested by police in connection with the rape and attempted murder of an eight year old girl in Newry in 1994.
Police have confirmed the man, who’s from the city, was questioned by officers from the serious crime branch and then released on bail, pending further inquiries.
The country was shocked when details of the attack in Daisy Hill nursery woodland 24 years ago first broke.
