A 39 year old man has been arrested in connection with the murder George Gilmore in Carrickfergus.
The leading loyalist was shot as he sat in his car in the Woodburn Estate on the 13th of March.
The 44 year old later died in hospital as a result of his injuries.
Eyewitnesses said a gunman fled the scene on foot, although two men may have been involved in the killing.
Police said at the time that one of the bullets fired missed the victim and went through the front door of a near by property.
The murder prompted a heavy police presence in the area amid fears of reprisals between rival fractions of the UDA.
Hours before Mr.Gilmore's murder he posted on Facebook: "The days of the UDA putting people out of Carrick are over."
