A man has been charged with a number of offences including possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply.
It's after he was stopped in the Melrose Street area of Belfast around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon.
Police recovered £40,000 worth of herbal cannabis from a bag he was carrying.
During a follow up search at a property in Newry a sum of cash and what are believed to be false identity documents were seized.
The 33 year-old suspect is due before court in Belfast tomorrow.
As is usual procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
