Online campaign raises over £7,000 for Glenn family

An online campaign to raise funds for the family of Derry man Jack Glenn has surpassed £7,000.

The fundraiser was launched by a family friend one week ago in the hopes of raising £200 to support the family while searching for Jack. 

However, 365 people from across Northern Ireland have since contributed £7,132 to the fund. 

Campaign organiser Bryan Keenan said the response has been 'overwhelming':

"I'm lost for words to be honest but if it shows anythings its that this city isn't nearly as divided as some people would have us believe."

Jack's family has since vowed to divide the money raised among various charities in his memory.

Thousands of people have joined the search for Jack since he entered the River Foyle last Thurday.

Search groups will continue to move off hourly from the Peace Bridge and Foyle Bridge.
