An elderly woman and her adult children have escaped injury after after an arson attack in Derry-Londonderry.
A pillow was set against the gas mains of a house in Lower Bennett street and set alight after half 1 this morning.
The occupants were not injured but were left badly shaken by the ordeal.
Detective Sergeant Brian Reid is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who has any information that can assist with the investigation to contact Detectives in Strand Road.
Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
