Police give drivers car theft prevention tips

Drivers are being given tips on social media to prevent their cars becoming a target for thieves.

It follows a number of vehicle thefts in the last few weeks.

Police advice includes leaving empty glove compartments open, and keeping a tidy car to put off curious or opportunistic thieves.

They also advise drivers not to leave valuables in view.
