An 81 year old woman who went missing from the Bangor area last night has died.
Jean McAllister went missing after being seen in the Carlton Park area at half 10 on Thursday night.
Local residents in the Ashbury area had been asked to to check their gardens or sheds to help assist police in their search.
The 81 year old was found on Friday afternoon at around 1.30pm and was taken to hospital.
The pensioner has since passed away.
Inspector Stephen McGuigan said: “Mrs McAllister was found this afternoon near to where she went missing in the Ashbury area of the town.
“We would pay tribute to local residents and the Community Rescue Service who worked so hard to find Mrs McAllister.
“Our thoughts are with the family at this sad time.”
