Police are appealing for information following the report of a house fire in north Belfast, yesterday evening, Tuesday, 30th December.
Officers received a report at approximately 11:40pm that a property was on fire in the Ceylon Street area.
Police attended alongside colleagues from Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service. It was observed that a bin had been placed inside the kitchen at the door and set on fire, with the suspect then exiting the house through an open rear bedroom window.
Thankfully, no occupants were in the property at the time and no injuries have been reported.
This is being treated as arson with intent to endanger life and officers are appealing to anyone who may have relevant information regarding this, including anyone who may have video footage, CCTV, doorbell or other to get in contact on 101 quoting reference 1412 30/12/25.
