The PSNI has launched an appeal via social media for information following the weekend’s fatal crash.
A 23-year-old man was arrested in Magherafelt after a car failed to stop in Coleraine.
He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Thirteen year-old Reece Meenan died in hospital a short time after being hit by a car on Saturday night.
The vehicle was found several hours after the collision.
Police say they’re keen to speak to anyone who noticed a white vehicle with one wing mirror and a damaged windscreen.
