PSNI receive reports of cold callers in the Ballymoney area claiming to be 'the government'
Police received a report of cold calling in the Ballymoney area. It is believed that a Man and Woman are calling at Elderly Residents’ homes claiming to be from “The Government” and requesting that all New £5 notes should be returned to them as they are no longer legal tender.
The PSNI are asking the public to keep an eye out for vulnerable or elderly friends and relatives, who may be targets of this sort of scam. We would ask if anyone has any further information on this or similar incidents please contact Police on 101.
